“We don’t get letters like this every day. You have asked some good questions, albeit in a way that raised some angel eyebrows. Thanks for writing...
Yours,
Holy Spirit”
Dear Holy Spirit is an imagined correspondence with the Holy Spirit. It began as a journal entry—an exploration of my own need to understand the mysterious third person of the Holy Trinity—and grew into a collection of more than 25 exchanges, each pair a response to my own wonderings about creation, aging, love, prayer and death. Sometimes, when the letters would find their way into a sermon, people would encourage me to publish them. It seemed that I was not alone in my need to understand. So, I did.
